Autumn Arts and Crafts classes for adults

RESEARCH shows that learning new skills can be more than useful, it can also improve our mental wellbeing. The NHS reports that “people who carry on learning after childhood report higher wellbeing and greater ability to cope with stress. They also report more feelings of self-esteem, hope and purpose”.

As the days and nights draw in, why not join one of the leisure and lifestyle courses on offer at Thurrock Adult Community College for your wellbeing? As well as their popular Painting/Drawing and Floristry courses, new offers for Autumn include Basketry Skills and Knitting for Beginners, where you will learn techniques to create your own unique designs. In the evenings, there is a Singing for Fun course plus cookery classes for adults at the Ormiston Park Academy. There is also a brand new ‘Well’ programme, for healthy minds, with a special offer of £5 for the first course plus all courses have lower fees for over-65s.

Don’t miss out, call 01375 372476 to book – enrolments close one week before and minimum numbers are required for ESFA funding purposes. For more information, visit www.thurrock.gov.uk/adultcollege or drop into the college at Richmond Road, Grays, RM17 6DN.
