CINEWORLD AT FESTIVAL LEISURE PARK SET TO ATTEMPT GUINNESS WORLD RECORD
CINEWORLD at Festival Leisure Park will be attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the number of people dancing to the 1970s dance classic ‘Opps Upside Your Head’ by The Gap Band.
Taking place on Sunday 7th October at 10am, Cineworld is inviting the local community to join in on the fun and help be a part of attempting to break a Guinness World Record!
Staff members from Cineworld are already getting into the ‘Opps Upside Your Head’ spirit, and have been finessing their moves ahead of the attempt!
The current record stands at 333 people as on 13th May 2018, however Cineworld believes with the help of their loyal customers and the local community they can beat the current Guinness World Record.
As a proud partner of Children In Need, Cineworld will be kindly asking for a one-pound donation per person taking part in the attempt, forming part of a series of fundraising activities ran by Cineworld and Festival Leisure.
Presenters from Gateway Radio, supported by Children In Need will also be heading down to Cineworld to join in on all the action and will be broadcasting live.
Matthew Chambers, Centre Manager at Festival Leisure Park, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Cineworld in their attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the number of people dancing to Opps upside Your Head. It’s great to be able to involve the local community in such a great event and we’re looking forward seeing both our existing visitors and new for some dancing fun.”
Phil Pierce, Manager at Cineworld Basildon commented: “We’re excited to be hosting our first ever Guinness World Record attempt and we’re calling out for as many people as possible to pop down to Cineworld to come and support us in this fantastically fun challenge.”
