1100 hrs: Statement from Essex Police
“We are currently on scene of a serious collision on the westbound A13 near Orsett.
A lorry was in collision with the central reservation at around 9am today (Tuesday, October 16).
The driver of the lorry has been taken to hospital with a head injury and the road has been closedin both directions between the Manorway (A1089) and the A128.
Please avoid the area and plan your journey.
We need anyone who saw what happened to come forward, in particular we need to speak to anyone who has dash cam footage of the incident.
“If you have any information please call us on 101 quoting incident 303 of October 16”.
