Prokit UK Essex Olympian League – Saturday 3rd November Round-Up

Essex Premier Cup

Rayleigh Town caused an upset as they came back from 1-0 down at half-time to beat Aveley Res. 3-2. Bailey Moss scored twice with George Dansie converting a penalty to see Rayleigh through. Chingford Athletic were edged out 3-2 by Hullbridge Sports Res. despite a brace from Eric Kelly. And Ramsden Scotia found Barking U23s a tough nut to crack and succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. Kelvedon Hatch needed extra time before they could put Gas Recreation away. In the end Kelvedon Hatch booked their place in the next round via a 6-3 win with Mike Daniels notching a hat-trick with Danny Gillard, Bradley Ling and Daniel Johnson also supplying goals. Catholic United beat White Notley 6-1; while a Jermaine Purchas goal for Sungate was enough to see them beat Old Southendian and Beacon Hill Rovers also made progress via a 1-0 score line, with Runwell Sports the victims. A Martin Mixture hat-trick went some way to seeing Old Chelmsfordians through. Joshua Lawrence also supplied a goal in the 4-3 win over Academy Soccer who replied via Mitch Grace (2) and Alex Brown. Hutton also hit four as they ended Canning Town’s interest in the competition with a 4-2 victory. Will Marlowe scored twice, with George Nash and Tom Nash also on the score sheet. Patrick Damali scored both the Canning Town replies. A Sam Donn penalty alongside a Sean Lander goal saw Galleywood beat Basildon Town 2-0; while Buckhurst Hill had a tough game with Great Baddow but goals from Sam Sollosi and Suleyman Zuhdu saw them win the tie 2-1.

Herts Senior Centenary Trophy

Danny Morgan fired Bishop’s Stortford Swifts into the 3rd Round of the Herts Senior Centenary Trophy with his hat-trick helping his team come away from Hatfield Town with a 3-1 win.

Premier Division

Harold Wood Athletic are up to second after a 2-0 away win at Leigh Ramblers with Reiss Kingley providing both goals.

Division One

Either Division One leaders Snaresbrook had a bad day at the office, or else FC Hamlets had a particularly good one as they went on to show the leaders no respect and beat them 5-1. Charlie Heatly, Ishmael Carter, Farron Smith, Ashley King and Tyler Sanago-Ishmael provided the FC Hamlets goals, with Tyriquee Solomon notching the Snaresbrook consolation. Snaresbrook remain top despite this result. Late goals from Ronnie Hobbrough and Sam Lock saw Shenfield AFC overcome Ongar Town 2-1. The hosts scored via Sean Green and held that lead until the 91st minute when Shenfield equalised and then three minutes later took all the spoils and so end the day up in third. Rayleigh Town Res. and Frenford Res. shared a point after their game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Division Two

Rochford Town were big winners on Saturday as they beat May & Baker E.C. ‘A’ 12-0. David Watson lead the charge with four goals; Ashley Fowles bagged a hat-trick; with goals apiece for Daniel Bathurst, Grant Lyle, Christopher Haycock, Jake Lunn and Tyler Fowles. Lakeside also had a goal spree as they handed Upminster a 7-0 defeat. Luke Quinton bagged five of the goals with Harry Hearn and Drew Klessa-Smith also chipping in. A David Major hat-trick helped Toby beat Ryan, with Des Gallen the other Toby marksman in the 4-0 victory. Harold Wood Athletic Res. meanwhile came away from Newham United with all the points after Perry Robinson, Paul Virdi and Chris Pope bagged goals in the 3-2 win.

Division Three

Westhamians bagged all the points thanks to Max Holt whose all-important goal saw the Division Three leaders beat Hutton Res. 1-0. Leigh Town are second after a 6-2 win over White Ensign Res, who scored their goals via Adam Skinner and Efrem Nuguse. Laindon Orient are third after a 9-2 victory over Basildon Town Res. Henry Ballard scored a hat-trick; Samuel Lake notched twice; Jasper Read, Tom Read, Adam Cole and Michael Bottone also put their names down on the score sheet. Roydon came from behind before taking all the spoils at Wakering Sports. The hosts were leading 2-0 due to Ryan Curtis and Aaron Marshall finding the target. Micky Copping pulled one back from a penalty and then Roydon were on level terms thanks to Ezra Folan. Nader Benzid then capped a fine performance by firing home the winner ten minutes from time.
