AROUND 200 children from Years 2 and 6 of East Tilbury Primary School led the 2018 Annual Remembrance Day service on a chilly Friday 9 November morning. They were supported by an equal number of parents, family, friends and members of The Royal British Legion.
Year 6 children read the names of those men and women from East and West Tilbury who died in both World Wars. Wreaths were laid by The Royal British Legion, Years 2 and 6, Mrs Louise Coates, Executive Head and Mike Tarbard, Chairman of the Bata Heritage Centre.
Closing prayers were said by Father Tim Codling.
After the service guests were invited to the school for tea and biscuits. They were then entertained by the Year 6 pupils with poems and playlets that they had prepared about the First and Second World Wars.
An exhibition of their work was also on display.
