Excitement building ahead of opening night of star-studded panto
FINAL preparations are underway as the stars of this year’s pantomime in Grays get ready to take to the stage.
With final rehearsals coming to a close, there is huge excitement ahead of the opening night of Aladdin at Thameside Theatre in Grays on Friday.
Among the star-studded cast is this year’s Dame, Luke Coldham, who is returning for the third successive year having previously appeared as Smee in Peter Pan and as Dame Dolly Doughnut in last year’s box office smash, Beauty and the Beast.
Other cast include former TOWIE star Dan Osborne and Ben Jardine, who appeared in Married at First Sight and this year’s Celebrity Big Brother.
Cllr Deborah Huelin, Thurrock Council’s portfolio holder for communities, said: “This year’s pantomime promises to be the biggest and best yet, and we cannot wait for the show to get underway now.
“Aladdin is a real family favourite and I know I am not alone in really looking forward to the curtain coming up for the opening night this week.
“Tickets are continuing to sell fast so I would recommend people book now to avoid any disappointment.”
There will be 61 panto showings between this Friday and Sunday, 6 January, with tickets available from £16. For further details about Aladdin or to book online, visit www.thurrock.gov.uk/theatre or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
