Rugby: Thurrock outclass Hove

Thurrock Rugby

THURROCK paid their first visit to Hove and came away with their second consecutive victory. Although Hove occupy bottom spot they belied their lowly placing with a spirited performance keeping Thurrock honest all game. Thurrock were on the backfoot early in the game but with their first meaningful attack Dan Stone recorded his first try of the day well converted by Sam Stanley.

The score stayed at 7-0 until first half injury time when a clearance kick was charged down by Dylan Fearon, Dan Carey was on hand to kick the ball on and Fearon outsprinted the cover defence to touch down, with Stanley adding the extras to lead 14-0 a score which flattered Thurrock

The second half was much the same the constant drizzle continued and the sea fret made conditions very murky but Thurrock kept attacking with purpose and Tom Pool added the first try of the half, converted by Stanley.

Dan Stone added his second of the day quickly followed by tries from Charlie Russo and Jake Bedding all going unconverted has conditions made kicking difficult but Thurrock closed out the game to record a bonus point victory keeping them in 6th place

This week THURROCK are HOME to COBHAM where there is a 3pm kick off
