Corringham man escapes jail after assaulting a paramedic

A CORRINGHAM man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a paramedic whilst he was trying to do his job.

Craig Roberts, aged 32, of Bracelet Close, Corringham pleaded guilty at Basildon magistrates court to the following.

On 27/11/2018 at Grays assaulted, an emergency worker, namely a paramedic, acting in the exercise of his functions as such a worker.

Contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 and section 1 of the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Act 2018.

Roberts was committed to prison for 20 weeks suspended for 12 months.
He was fined £115.00
