Football: Tilbury continue to climb up the league

Bostik North

Tilbury 4 v 1 Romford

TILBURY picked up a fifth win in seven matches under the stewardship of Marc Harrison as they brushed aside the derby challenge of Romford in Boxing Day’s Bostik North clash at Chadfields.

Oliver Spooner gave Dockers a 29th minute lead against struggling Borough but Danny Cossington conjured up an equaliser inside three minutes.

However, two goals in two minutes just before the break from Lewis Smith and George Sykes put Tilbury in the driving seat.

A second goal for Lewis Smith on 74 minutes put the game to bed for the hosts.
