YOU have to admire their fortitude as a happy band of charismatic Conservatives started out on the campaign trail for the May local elections.
The messages on social media indicated that they were promoting the record of the Conservative administration that run Thurrock Council.
This appears to include more cash to cope with the crime problems that seem to be a huge problem in South Ockendon.
This is a real swing seat. It was at the heart of the UKIP revolution but seats have gone back to Conservatives (Cllr Andrew Jeffries in March 2018) and Labour (Cllr Sue Shinnick in May 2018).
Once again, it looks like it will be an interesting year for Thurrock politics.
