Princesses and scientists to take over Thameside Theatre this February half term

WHETHER it is being wowed by exhilarating experiments or dancing away at a pop princess party – there is plenty for the kids to enjoy at the Thameside Theatre this February half-term.

The Exciting Science show takes to the stage at the theatre in Grays at 2pm on Tuesday, 19 February, with tickets priced at £10.

Crammed with fun and fact-filled experiments, the interactive show is suitable for children aged four and over and will leave them starring on in amazement as a volcanic eruption is recreated, a vacuum cleaner is transformed into a missile launcher and the presenters take aim at them with their smoke blaster.

If princesses and pop music are more your child’s sort of thing then they will love Once Upon a Princess, which is returning for a third year on Friday, 22 February.

Taking place from 1pm until 4pm, it is the ultimate pop princess party and promises to bring a sprinkling of magic to the Thameside Theatre this spring.

Continuing to dazzle, inspire and captivate many little princes and princesses, this year it will feature songs from Olly Murs, Dolly Parton, Little Mix and many more. They will even get a glimpse from Broadway shows such as Shrek, Hairspray, Footloose, Annie and Wicked. Tickets are priced at £13.

Cllr Deborah Huelin, portfolio holder for Communities, said “It seems as though we have only just welcomed in the New Year, but February half term always comes around incredibly quickly.

“It is fantastic to see that Thameside Theatre has yet more entertaining events for children to enjoy next month.

“I would encourage people to book their tickets fast to avoid any disappointment.”
