AVELEY kept their promotion ambitions on course in this seven goal thriller at Parkside on Wednesday night.

The Millers had opened the scoring through Tom Richardson in the second minute.

But their tenants Grays Ath came firing back with goals by Adalberto Pinto (11′), Charlie Allen (24′) and Joao Carlos (41′).

This is an Aveley side with real promotion ambitions and they proved it with goals by Louis Hazelwood (45′ and 80′) and James Love (87′).

The result leaves Aveley in second place, four points off top spot, with a game in hand.

They return to league action on Saturday at home against league leaders Bowers and Pitsea.
