ARTISTS from Kinetika, the internationally renowned outdoor arts company based at High House Production Park in Purfleet, are heading west along the estuary to run a mini series of workshops at new creative studio Create98 in Leigh-on-Sea.
Kinetika runs the highly successful T100 Walking Festival which is soon to launch again for 2019. This year’s theme ‘Welcome to the Kitchen Table’ expands upon last year’s very successful T100 Recipes, and invites walkers to share personal stories and recipes and join a series of walks around and along the estuary in Essex and Kent. In a special collaboration with Create98, artists from Kinetika will run workshops for T100 to create personal items to take on the T100 walks. Artist and Kinetika Creative Director Ali Pretty and artists Lisa Meehan, Sally Chinea, Jo Beal and Mike Johnston will run writing, printing, drawing, book making, art journaling and photography workshops at the Leigh studio, and Sofie Layton will run a large-scale screen printing workshop at Kinetika’s Purfleet studio.
The workshops begin on 24th April and can be booked individually or as a package. Drinks and nibbles or tea and cake will be on offer at some workshops and at others, attendees will be invited to share their favourite recipe.
Ali Pretty said ‘I’m very excited to be collaborating with Create98 and extending T100 along the estuary where we will meet lots of new communities and make bespoke tablecloths from which to share recipes and the stories behind them.’
