OVER the last month Olive Academies’ trustees have undertaken a rigorous recruitment process to select a permanent headteacher for Olive AP Academy in Tilbury.
They are pleased to receive applications from a large number of high-calibre candidates. Following an extensive selection and interview process Olive Academies is delighted to announce that Collette Hunnisett has been appointed as the permanent headteacher at Olive AP Academy.
Collette Hunnisett said: “My fundamental belief is that every young person has the ability and right to learn. I have always wanted to work in a school which gave children and young people access to more exciting and engaging learning opportunities. I am so pleased to have found that commitment to create an outstanding, imaginative curriculum at Olive AP Academy – Thurrock. Further developing a curriculum which will engage all our students and allow them to gain the skills and qualifications they want and need is a priority for me and the academy team. I am ambitious on behalf of our students, their families, the staff and Olive Academies’ trustees and, as headteacher, I look forward to working with the academy and local community.”
Mark Vickers, Chief Executive, Olive Academies said: “Collette has the skills and experience to ensure that the academy builds on the ‘Good’ Ofsted inspection it received last December. She is a leader who will successfully shape and develop the outstanding provision our students deserve. Collette shares my aspiration to further develop Olive Academies’ valued partnership with the local authority and our work with local schools and academies. It is this ongoing partnership work which is so vital in securing the best possible outcomes for our most vulnerable students.”
