Grays Beachcombers find lots of bottle in Rainham

FOLLOWING on from the event at Concrete Barges in Rainham where 20 people picked 84 sacks of rubbish including 185 plastic bottles were filled on 13th April.

On Thursday, the Grays Beachcombers picked another enormous haul of plastic. This time eight people filled 69 sacks full of rubbish including 1,009 single use plastic bottles.

On this occasion they were clearing the rubbish below the sea wall at West Thurrock including emptying out one of the WWII Pill Boxes.

Future Picks

Sunday 5th May – meeting at Grays Yacht Club RM17 6JF at 10:30 to 12:00 followed by free refreshments in the café. This is the Grays Beachcombers regular monthly pick. This is a family friendly event suitable for accompanied children 6 years and older.

Wednesday 22nd May – Cleaning up below the QE2 Bridge – meeting at Old St Clements Church, West Thurrock RM20 4AL at 10:30 to 13:30. This is an adult only event and will include up to 4 miles walking.

Saturday 25th May – meeting at Concrete Barges, Coldharbour Lane, Rainham, RM13 9YQ at 10:30 to 13:30. This is a family friendly event suitable for accompanied children 6 years and older.

Sunday 2nd June – meeting at Grays Yacht Club RM17 6JF at 10:30 to 12:00 followed by free refreshments in the café. This is the Grays Beachcombers regular monthly pick. This is a family friendly event suitable for accompanied children 6 years and older.
