A BASILDON fundraiser is calling on people to join her team for this month’s Mud Run – a gruelling mud and obstacle race – to help raise funds for St. Luke’s Hospice.
Kerry Chambers, 33, Events and Community Manager at St. Luke’s Hospice, will be leading a team of ‘Luke’s Nukes’ challengers through the exhilarating 7km obstacle course on Saturday 18th May.
Set in the heart of the Secret Bunker Estate in Brentwood, the fun-filled course sees participants climb, crawl and battle their way through over 50 obstacles. The popular event, organised by Nuclear Races, is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. This will be the fifth time Kerry has taken part in the Mud Run for St. Luke’s Hospice.
Kerry said: “I think the Mud Run is one of the most fun events in the UK – that’s why I’ve done it so many times! It’s just enough of a challenge for me and I wouldn’t say I’m a keen runner or an athlete. I just laugh my way around the course!
“Other people are so willing to help you along the course too. I’ve been helped over obstacles before when I’ve been struggling so I’m never worried about being left behind.
“We still have a few spaces left in our ‘Luke’s Nukes’ team and I would urge anyone thinking about joining to sign up. I’m really looking forward to getting muddy!”
Entry is £30 with a minimum sponsorship fee of £100. The deadline for entries is Wednesday 8th May.
