Over £80,000 earmarked for SEGRO Community Fund 2019
APPLICATIONS for funding welcome from local charities and community groups across London and Thames Valley
Focusing on helping vulnerable people into employment and youth social action
20 May 2019- A new funding round of £85,000 has been announced by SEGRO, the industrial and logistics property owner, manager and developer, through its SEGRO Community Fund. SEGRO has now donated over £340,000 to charities through the funding over the last four years.
The fund will be distributed by the London Community Foundation and the Berkshire Community Foundation to projects that tackle barriers to work and support those suffering from disadvantage who require help to get into, or return to, the workplace through skills training, apprenticeships and educational activity to boost their chances of employment. This year, across London, the fund will also target youth social action which includes campaigning, fundraising and/ or volunteering.
This year the London Community Foundation has secured match funding from the #iwill fund, a joint investment that brings together £40 million in funding from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and The National Lottery Community Fund, creating a central investment pot to deliver projects focusing on youth social action. Therefore, for this year only London-based charities who are applying for funding, they can apply for up to £10,000 grants.
Neil Impiazzi, Partnership Development Director, SEGRO said:
“The SEGRO Community Fund has enabled us to support 53 local charities and 2300 people to date, and we look forward to building on the support we are providing communities across the Thames Valley and London. We look forward to continuing our close relationships across the regions where we have an active presence, while providing a more efficient and targeted approach to our community funding.
“We are acutely aware of the role our business plays in our local communities, and are proud of the impact we have made to date. The SEGRO Community Fund gives us the framework to build on our achievements and help further improve the lives of local people.”
In London, charities and projects from the following boroughs are eligible to apply for up to £10,000: Barking & Dagenham, Brent, Ealing, Enfield, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Newham*.
