Date set for 113th Orsett Show

THE 113th Orsett Show will be held on Saturday, 7th September 2019 at its usual venue – The Orsett Showground, Rectory Road, Orsett, RM16 3RU.

Georgina Clark, Show Secretary, said “Show Organisers are delighted to announce that in addition to their support as Headline Sponsor for the 2019 Show, The Port of Tilbury have confirmed their continued sponsorship of the Show through to 2022. We would like to thank them for agreeing to this further 3 year commitment and look forward to working with them on ensuring The Orsett Show continues to offer a Great Family Day for our local community”.

Paul Dale, Asset and Site Director of The Port of Tilbury said “We are honoured to be the headline sponsor of The Orsett Show 2019 again this year and commit to a further three years of support for this fantastic community event. As a major employer in the area being involved in the local communities in which we operate is very important to us and we look forward to welcoming show goers to our stand on 7 September.”

The 2019 Show Charity is confirmed as The Royal British Legion and Rod Oakley said “On behalf of the Committee of the Grays Thurrock Branch Royal British Legion, I would like to say a very big thank you to Georgina and the Committee of the Orsett Show for the great honour of being selected as this year’s nominated charity.  Last year our Branch raised over £77K in the Grays area alone, contributing to a massive £55 Million nationally. With the support of the Orsett Show, we hope to break that record which we set last year. Lest we forget”

Georgina confirmed that “in addition to the traditional attractions, we have the amazing Paul Hannam Stunt Show in our Ray Osborne Arena (Paul is a quad bike stuntman with 25 years’ experience of riding quad bikes).

“We are also pleased to say that Thurrock Council and the Young Producers will be organising Orsett Show’s Got Talent Competition and the winner and runner-up will be announced on Show Day. There will also be an opportunity to see lots of local talent on the Stage. In addition to our main Stage, we will also be having a Royal British Legion Stage which will feature The Swingtime Sweethearts who will perform a wide range of songs from the 1940s.

This year’s Show offers lots to see and do – we hope to see you there.
