GCSE joy for Ortu Gable Hall Students
STUDENTS at Ortu Gable Hall School were left smiling after opening their GCSE results this morning (Thursday 22 August).
Headgirl, Ami Finch, 16, Corringham, achieved four grade 9s, one grade 8, four grade 7s and two grade 6s.
“All of my teachers have just been so supportive, and they have made my time at the school really great.”
Now, Ami is planning tofurther her education by taking A-Levels at the Ortu Sixth Form Centre Stanford & Corringham, and is hoping to study English Literature, Psychology and History. Overjoyed, Ami said: “I am really excited to see what the future brings.”
Isabel Hillion, 16, Corringham, who achieved four grade 9s, five grade 8s, one grade 7 and one grade 6, paid credit to her teachers during her time at the school.
“I will remember Mr Dixon, Miss Ellis and Mr Matthews. They all helped and supported me a lot every day.”
Eden Hamilton, 16, Corringham, achieved seven grade 8s, one 7, one 6 and a 5. Reflecting on his time at the school, Eden said: “I really enjoyed studying Maths. Mr Dixon and
Mr Debenham were really supportive teachers, and got everyone involved in class.”
Now, Eden is excited to study A-Levels in Computer Science, Physics, Maths and Further Maths at college.
Another Gable Hall student celebrating their GCSE results is Emma Vincent, 16, Corringham.
“I am so pleased with my results. Lots of teachers really helped me, including Mr Matthews, Mr Dixon and Miss Ellis. They all put in so much effort, and went above and beyond to help the class.”
Mr Ceri Evans, Principal of Ortu Gable Hall, said: “I am really pleased with the results this year. Overall Attainment of the school has remained strong with 62% of students achieving grade 4-9 (formerly A*-C) or better. The curriculum changes we have made as a school have really paid dividends to the success of the children. Well done everyone!”
