STUDENTS at The Ockendon Academy have received their GCSE examinations with a fantastic overall result. Students have been celebrating their personal achievements in the company of parents and staff.
They are delighted to report that 17 subjects have improved their rates of progress compared to last year, with more students achieving or exceeding national expectations.
Eight students achieved 8 or more exam results at grades 7-9.

Combined Science: 95% 9-4 grades
Physics: 33% 9-7 grades
Biology: 29% 9-7 grades
Chemistry: 29% 9-7 grades
BTEC Sport: 41% 9-7 grades, 88% 9-4 grades
Product Design: 21% 9-7 grades
French: 20% 9-7 grades
Religious Studies: 32% 9-7 grades, 88% 9-4 grades
BTEC Music: 93% 9-4 grades
Head of Year 11, Mr Hinnigan, was delighted to see so many students exceeding their expectations and says: “This year group has been aspirational. I have high hopes that all students will have future successes and it has been an absolute pleasure to see so many students going from strength to strength, achieving more than they thought they were capable of.”
