intu Lakeside invited local emergency services to their new leisure development – The Quay, on Sunday for Emergency Services Day.

FAMILIES across Essex had the opportunity to explore and learn about a range of their local emergency services including Essex Police Force Support Unit, Arial Drone Unit, Police Museum – which had old uniforms on display for families to try, Police Cadets, Essex Fire and Rescue, St John’s Ambulance and the Environment Agency.

Throughout the day, visitors learnt about important life skills such as CPR, how to responsibly use emergency services and took part in rock climbing and St John’s Ambulance’s mini driving course.

Nickelodeon’s Paw Patrol characters – Rubble, Chase, Marshall and Skye were also present for a meet and greet and Pup Pup Boogie sessions as part of intu Lakeside’s Family Club* offer.

Howard Oldstein, centre director at intu Lakeside, said: “It was great to see our visitors learning about their local emergency services at the centre and trying out new things like rock climbing.
