FOLLOWING its successful photographic competition, the Land of the Fanns Landscape Partnership Scheme is running a drawing competition and it is open to all amateur artists. There are three prizes to win in adult and under 12 categories.
The Land of the Fanns is a fascinating and intricate landscape, full of surprises and ‘hidden gems’ which straddles the London – Essex boundary and encompasses significant parts of Havering, Thurrock, Barking & Dagenham and Brentwood. The drawing competition is on the theme of the landscape or heritage of this area. Drawings can be in either pen or pencil and can be black & white or colour. There are three prizes for adults of One4all vouchers, accepted at many high street stores. Winners in the children’s category will win art sets.
For ideas of places to find inspiration for drawings, go to www.landofthefanns.org and find out about the area of the project and read the competition entry rules. The competition will be judged in two categories: Adults and Young People (12+) and children 11 and under. The closing date is 30 November 2019.
Congratulations go to the winners of the recent photographic competition run by the scheme. Taking the theme of water, marshes, lakes and rivers, entrants were asked to take photographs across the Land of the Fanns. The winners were:
1st: Paul Harold, Ingrebourne river
2nd: Sharon Smith, Warren Gorge, Grays
3rd: Colin Page, Releasing the birds
All three photographs can be seen on the Land of the Fanns website: wwwlandofthefanns.org or facebook page.
