Exciting entrepreneurship programme available to students

UNIVERSITY Centre South Essex has teamed up with Ultra Education to run a free 12 week business and entrepreneur programme for year 12 and 13 students.

The course is aimed at future entrepreneurs, it will run at the university centre’s Southend campus and the Eastbury Secondary School in Barking from 14 February.

The programme will prepare students to start the university centre’s brand new BA (Hons) Business & Entrepreneurship degree. The course is ideal for those who wish to gain the knowledge and skillset to establish their own company.

Mark Bentley, Operations Director at the college will be teaching on the degree. He said: “The entrepreneurship programme is a fantastic opportunity for any individual to develop their ideas into real business situations, and take control of their own destiny.

“I see this programme providing exciting learning and development opportunities for students who want to thrive in the 21st century world of entrepreneurship.”

Founder and CEO of Ultra Education, Julian Hall, will be running the 12 week programme. He started his first business when he was 18-years-old and now runs a social enterprise plus a tech start-up company.

He said: “My personal experiences in running businesses have inspired me to want to give back to the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“Students can expect to learn how to develop products and services, how to sell and market their business on a shoestring, how to use technology to scale their businesses, the basics of accounting and how to pitch like a professional.”
