Covid-19: Four cases of coronavirus confirmed in Thurrock, total now 265

FOUR cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Thurrock in the last 24 hours according to the latest figures from Public Health England (27 April).

This brings the total number of cases in the borough to 265.

At Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals, which has been the worst-hit hospital in Essex by coronavirus, five coronavirus-related deaths have been confirmed in the past 24 hours – bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths at the hospital to 227.

For a more in-depth look at the statistics from the hospital trust, please go to the article we published earlier today by going to the following web address: www.yourthurrock.com/2020/04/27/covid-19-five-patient-confirmed-sadly-died-basildon-thurrock-university-hospitals-trust-24-hours/

While several care homes across the borough have tragically reported cases of people dying with Covid-19, the figures are not official at this stage.

Furthermore, in the cases of reporting on confirmed figures in hospitals, the exact recovery figures are yet to be made official by the government.

This is frustrating but is definitely something that needs to be taken into account when looking at all of the statistics.

Please note that official figures at this stage do not include care homes and other parts of the community, such as people who have passed away at home.

The figures at this stage only take into account coronavirus-related hospital deaths.

Our thoughts at YourThurrock are with those affected by the coronavirus.
