THURROCK Lifestyle Solutions CIC were delighted to have over 20,000 people look at their Makaton signed ‘Missing You’ post recently on Facebook.
For a while now they have been in a collaboration with local Social Enterprise ‘Eazee Learning’ – these local guys from Thurrock have been volunteering to support our DJ’s to master their craft but also have been using a new way of learning that we’ve called ‘Songification’. So instead of using traditional learning methods they teach by writing the subject people wish to learn into a song.
Last year they had a YouTube sensation with thousands of people looking at their simple way for people to gain their CSCS cards in order to get on building sites.
Today we launched ‘The Five Steps’ song on Facebook and reached a massive 9,000 people in the first two hours.
As ever – our purpose is one of social inclusion; a recognition that a lot of people’s Mental Health and Wellbeing is suffering at the moment in our Community. We want to give a message that there are 5 simple steps you can take to keep yourself sane in a mad world …
Connect … Be Active … Keep Learning … Give to Others … Be Mindful
CEO of Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions CIC Neil Woodbridge said; “We know how hard it is for everyone at the moment; but right now, the collaborating community of Thurrock is helping massively. It’s great to see it and for us to play our small part. Boris has his 5-part plan for the Country, but we have the 5 steps to positive mental health which we think can help anyone in isolation”.
