PANDEMIC MAKES DOGTOPIA PAWS FOR A YEAR, LEADING THE WAY TO COLLAR CASH FOR CHOSEN CHARITIES
HARDIE Park in Stanford-le-Hope has hosted the popular ‘Dogtopia Show’ for the last couple of years. Sadly, due to COVID-19 the summer doggie spectacular was cancelled. Cath Lumley of Dogtopia Pet Services and Alicia Bratby of Alicia’s Obedience Dog Training who deliver the family event decided to continue with the fundraiser in a different format. They presented supporters with 16 classes, each with a local business sponsor on their social media Facebook show page. Dog owners posted their pooches photos and videos donating £2 per class entry to the cause.
Alicia Bratby said, ‘From our class sponsors, to everyone that entered and all those that took the time to share. We have simply loved all of the videos and photos that were submitted. You made the judges job a tough one. Event supporters raised an amazing £1312.62. We are now sending £440 to each of our chosen charities Canine Concern, Hardie Park and Essex Retired Police Dogs Fund.
Thank you for your support and we hope to be back with our real-life version in 2021’.
Rob Groves of Hardie Park said, ‘We are grateful to Cath and Alicia for coming up with an innovative alternative to our hugely popular annual event.
Their fundraising efforts are very much appreciated.’
