St. Luke’s Hospice launches Virtual Luke’s to Luke’s Challenge
St. Luke’s Hospice in Basildon is calling supporters to complete 5 or 10 miles this October and raise vital funds to support the essential care provided by the charity.

Participants of the Virtual Luke’s to Luke’s Challenge can walk, jog, cycle, skate or even swim their chosen distance, completing in one session or throughout the month of October.
The Hospice has held three Luke’s to Luke’s Walks since 2017 and this year the event has gone ‘virtual’ to accommodate the current government guidelines. It has been a popular fundraiser for the charity, helping to raise £20,000. Kerry, the event manager, explains:
“With so many of our events cancelled due to COVID-19, we wanted to keep our most popular event available for our loyal supporters who can do it around their own schedule and at their own pace. Being ‘virtual’ and open throughout the month of October, we hope even more people will get involved and raise funds for their local hospice while keeping active!”
St. Luke’s Hospice is hoping to raise even more money this year to support the compassionate care that the charity provides to people whose illnesses are no longer curable.
