South Essex College launch mental health partnership

South Essex College launches partnership with Togetherall to support student and staff mental health

South Essex College has launched a partnership with the leading online national mental health service ‘Togetherall’ to provide students and staff with a completely free platform to access safe, anonymous mental health support.

The partnership is part of South Essex College’s 2020 mental health strategy which will provide extra guidance and support to aid in positive mental well-being. The impact of Covid-19 has had a profound effect on mental health and the partnership will help to support students, apprentices and staff who are experiencing challenges during this time.

Togetherall is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is clinically proven to help those who are struggling with stress, isolation, anxiety, depression and other common mental health issues. It will provide subscribers with access to community and professional support, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Jane Belcher, Head of Safeguarding at South Essex College, said: “Bringing Togetherall in as a service for all our staff and students is a huge boost for our wellbeing agenda at the College. We know that mental health isn’t 9 to 5 and being able to offer this 24/7 support network that will fit around the lives of students and staff is a big step forward in our support services.”

“The range of resources and support from Togetherall is fantastic and there is something for everyone. We recognise as a college that having a range of different services and contact points for our students and staff will support mental health and wellbeing in the long term, so I am proud that we now offer an online service alongside our strong face to face service within College.”

Henry Jones, CEO of Togetherall, said: “I am delighted to welcome the students and staff at South Essex College to join the Togetherall community. Mental health has become ever more important during the last few months as people have had to cope with feelings of isolation, anxiety and uncertainty. Togetherall is a safe space where students and staff can express themselves and join a mutually supportive and active member community which can help support them through the next few turbulent months.”
