Covid-19: Thurrock Council deputy leader defends decision to stay in Tier 1

THE deputy leader of Thurrock Council has defended the decision for the borough to remain in Tier 1 of the Covid-19 areas.

Councillor Shane Hebb (Cons) stepped in for the leader of Thurrock Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill who was absent unwell.

Thurrock has the highest number of infection (per 100,000) in the county.

Cllr Hebb explained that the matter would be reviewed week by week.

  1. If we have the highest infection rate in the county – why the hell are we still in Tier 1, we should at least be in Tier 2 wit the rest of Essex.
