Thurrock education boss fails to give specific commitment on free school meals

THE PORTFOLIO holder for education would not give a direct commitment on free school meals.

Cllr Andrew Jeffries was answering a question from his opposite number, cllr Bukky Okunade.

Cllr Jeffries was asked a direct question on Free School Meals but would only commit to detailing that Thurrock Council had been given £193,000 to help parents “get hold of food and essentials”.
