PURFLEET residents were urged to avoid the area as firefighters, police and Network Rail dealt with rockfall on Friday morning.
The partial landside happened at Caspian Way, Purfleet, this morning.
The chalk cliff face collapsed onto a residential car park.
Thurrock Council says road closures were in place, including in Tank Hill Road.
Despite its involvement in the operation, Network Rail says none of its services are affected and an investigation found it had no affect on any of the lines in the area.
Essex Fire Service said it was not required to help resolve the issue and Thurrock Council is leading on the clear up.
