THURROCK Council’s Conservative administration have announced that from April 2021, Thurrock Council Foster Carers living in Thurrock will be exempt from paying council tax.

Conservative Party Cllr, James Halden said “We want to thank our amazing foster carers in Thurrock.
Opening your home to children who haven’t had the best start in life is one of the most generous things you can do. For many of these children, it’s a godsend.
That’s why we are giving a historic tax cut – taking local foster carers who foster for Thurrock out of council tax; That’s a massive annual tax cut of around £1,600 for a band d home!
This will enable us to grow more local care givers and therefore keep Thurrock children in their own community.”
