GRAYS Councillor, Martin Kerin, a vocal supporter of Grays Athletic’s bid for a ground at Ship Lane, has spoken of his disappointment at the decision of the Planning Committee to reject it.
Speaking in the immediate days after the Planning Committee decision , he said:
“It was disappointing to learn of the decision made by the Planning Committee.
“There was a chance to resurrect an outstanding football stadium, provide a home for a supporter-owned football club and enable numerous opportunities for community sport and wellbeing.
“This is not the end of the road for Grays Athletic. It is yet another bump in the road for a football club which has encountered many in its years of homelessness.
“I have no doubt that this well-supported football club will, one day, secure its own ground – I will support them every step of the way.”
Keep up the good work Cllr Kerin it is councilors like you that will make Thurrock a better place to work, rest and play.
Stick with dont let the bad guys hold you back. well done for trying.
