THIS is once again one of those wards act has plenty to get its teeth into and a ward that has changed so much over the last few years. Indeed, with developments in Purfleet, it is a ward that will change even further.
It once had three Conservative councillors but that was quite a few years ago. You would have thought that this was a ward to cultivate.
Tory candidate, Brian Seeger describes himself as working class and perhaps it is that type of Thurrock voter that he can reach out to. There are plenty of them as evidenced by the last four General Elections. He may not win this time but it could be worth cultivating this ward.
There are a lot of people who would like to see Lee Watson become a councillor. Lee had made a few noble attempts but just fallen short.
There is no doubt she would do a great job and be the type of councillor, out in the ward and in council and committee that her residents could depend on.
Strange to see just two candidates so it will be interesting to see where those old UKIP votes go.
Brian Seeger (Conservative)
Lee Watson (Labour)
