GRAYS Athletic went down to their first defeat of the season at Maldon on Friday night.

Goals by Charlee Hughes in the 6th and 52nd minutes secured all three points for the Jammers.

Anointed Chukwu scored for the Blues in the 74th minute.

The result leaves Grays Ath in fourth place, just two points behind the leaders.

They return to league action on Wednesday at home to Romford.
