RESIDENTS and motorists are reminded of the closure this weekend of a section of the a13 in both directions.

Both carriegeways will be closed between the A1089 (Tilbury Dock Approach Road) and the A128 (Orsett Cock) junctions.

Thurrock council, which has commissioned the longrunning A13 widening project suggests that drivers aiming to the travel along the A13 in either direction make diversions via the M25, A127 and A128 (and vice versa).

Local drivers are advised that the A1089 northbound link road to the A13 eastbound will be closed and they are advised to take a long diversion via the A13 westbound, M25, A127 and A128.

Next week, on Wednesday, 3 and Thursday, 4 November from 9pm to 5am the council advises that the entire Orsett Cock roundabout will be closed.

  1. If this work was being carried out anywhere else in the world it would have been completed in a few weeks to minimise disruption. Why does it have to take years of misery for people who have to use this VERY main road?

  2. If they were to complete sections instead doing a bit leaving it going back later maybe they would be more efficient in completing these sections and reduce closures
