WARD councillors and residents in Grays Riverside have today planted a tree in Parker Road as part of the national Queen’s Green Canopy scheme.

Speaking from the Parker Road Recreational Ground, following the tree planting, Councillors Martin Kerin, Jane Pothecary and Tony Fish said:

“We are pleased to be able to plant this tree today. This park at Parker Road is a special place for local residents, and a fantastic location for this additional tree.

“It is great that all twenty wards of Thurrock have been given the opportunity to be part of this Green Canopy scheme. Hopefully, this tree planted today will be the first of many to grace our ward. The residents of Grays Riverside certainly appreciate any effort to make our ward a greener and healthier place to live.”
