TWO cafes based in Stanford-le-Hope, The Cup and Saucer cafe, and Full of Beanz, have been named in the Top 20 family businesses in the UK.
During March to June, thousands of nominations came in for small, family-run shops, pubs, bars and cafes around the UK through local shopping platform, ShopAppy.
Both cafes were repeatedly praised by customers for their excellent service, personal staff, value for money and role in the community during and after the pandemic — and are now in with a chance of being named ShopAppy Favourite Family Business of the Year 2022, which will be announced on 27th June 2022.
Dr Jackie Mulligan, expert on the Government’s High Streets Task Force and founder of the local shopping platform, Shopappy, commented: “We received thousands of nominations for family-run businesses around the UK and each one of them should be applauded for the value they bring to their local communities. Those that made our Top 20 received outstanding nominations and endless praise from their customers. The Cup and Saucer and Full of Beanz are clearly a massive hit with the people of Stanford-le-Hope and deserve to be congratulated. They are both now finalists for ShopAppy Favourite Family Business of the Year 2022, and we wish them luck.”
Sara Rowland, Full of Beanz, added: “We’re delighted to have been named one of the UK’s Top 20 family businesses. It’s been a difficult couple of years with the pandemic but, thanks to our regular customers, we’ve managed to see it out.”
Rebecca King, The Cup and Saucer, commented: “Thanks so much to our wonderful customers for all the nominations. It means so much all the more so after two years of the pandemic.”
