It’s time to take to the dancefloor and raise much needed funds for St. Luke’s Hospice.

As part of Strictly St. Luke’s, members of the public will be paired with professional dancers to learn two dances between September and November 2022, which they will then perform at The Civic Hall, Grays, to compete to be crowned winners of the Glitterball Trophy.

The first dance will be a set dance and every participant will have the same choreography to perform with their professional dancer. The second dance will be unique to each dance couple with the details announced at a launch night in September.

Leanne Stewart, Corporate Fundraiser at St. Luke’s Hospice, said: “Strictly St. Luke’s is a well-established event, a once in a lifetime experience and a unique way to support St. Luke’s Hospice. Everyone who takes part will have lots of help and guidance from dance professionals, as well as support to achieve their fundraising goals. Now is the time to sign up to take part in this truly special event.”

Strictly St. Luke’s is organised by St. Luke’s Hospice and Lynda King, of Lynda King Dance Ltd.

Applications will close at 5pm on Friday 12th August. Successful participants will be notified by the end of August, by telephone or email.

For further information on participating in Strictly St. Luke’s, including requesting an application form and a copy of the event’s Terms and Conditions, please contact Leanne Stewart on 01268 524 973 or [email protected].

All participants must be a minimum of 18 years to take part and will need to pledge to raise a minimum of £600. No dance experience is necessary as training and support will be provided. Contestants also fundraise for the Hospice as part of entry to the competition. Full details on the event’s sponsorship, training, Launch Night and judging are available within our Terms and Conditions upon request.

Money raised from Strictly St. Luke’s will support the Hospice to continue providing compassionate palliative and end of life care to people in Basildon, Thurrock and surrounding areas, whose illnesses are no longer curable. The Hospice delivers care to ensure dignity and empower people to make the choices they want, from the moment they are diagnosed.
