Thurrock Conservatives deliver new parking spaces in Stanford-le-Hope

CONSERVATIVE councillors across Thurrock are delivering on promises for better parking to resolve residents’ concerns and free-up space on our street kerbs. One such project is the new parking area along Plaistow Close which residents and Conservative councillors in Stanford are eager to see completed in a few weeks time.

Cllr Shane Ralph (Stanford East and Corringham Town) has been one of the biggest proponents of the scheme at Thurrock Council. He said, “After being delayed during the pandemic, I am incredibly pleased to see work starting on a new parking area. I have been working with residents around Plaistow Close for a few years now to try and push this through. The extra parking will improve our part of Stanford and help clear our pathways of parked cars. Freeing up space for neighbours and families to use their public pathways.”

Cllr Ben Maney (Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport) said, “This announcement is another example of our Conservative commitment to get the basics right for residents. The Council has listened to residents’ concerns in Plaistow Close over the shortage of parking spaces and have taken appropriate action to put things right. I would like to thank ward councillors, particularly Cllr Shane Ralph, who has explained to me first hand the problems his residents have faced. Whilst there are not always quick fixes to some of the parking issues across Thurrock, I urge all residents to get in contact with their local Conservative councillors to see what solutions could be delivered for their communities.”
