PUPILS at Purfleet Primary Academy took part in a nationwide record attempt, running through coloured paint. The colour run was carried out in schools up and down the country to celebrate Reach2’s tenth anniversary.
For the record, the 600 pupils at the primary academy ran laps around the school site at the same time as their peers in the different Reach2 schools throughout the country.
Mr Samuel (headteacher) said, ‘The leadership of this school has promised to offer children a broad, balanced and fun-filled educational experience while they are at Purfleet Primary Academy.
The Colour Run was a resounding success with all children and adults having an absolute ball while at the same time setting a record whereby 20 000 children across 60-odd trust schools participated at the same time. It was a wonderful and colourful experience.
The huge smiles as children were leaving at the end of the day said it all. They couldn’t wait to share the experience with the parents.
A special thank you to all adults who organised the event. We will consider whether this can be an annual event.’
Enjoyment was clear to see from pupils ranging from nursery to year 6.
