Over 3,000 househunters await a new housing development in Fobbing

THE first selection of new homes at a Bellway development in Fobbing will be released for sale on Saturday 5th November.

The housebuilder is delivering 178 new properties at Maple Creek on the 24.2-acre former site of the Vange Water Works.

The new homes are to be put on the market in November when a sales cabin will open at the development off High Road.

Maple Creek will comprise 119 properties for private sale and 59 affordable homes for local people through low-cost rent or shared ownership.

There will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses and one and two-bedroom apartments.

Emma Hamlett, Sales Director at Bellway Thames Gateway, said: “Maple Creek is already proving to be a very popular development. Over 3000 people have registered their interest with us and we expect this demand to intensify once we start welcoming visitors to the development from November.

“We will be delivering a range of new homes in a variety of styles to meet the needs of everyone from growing families to downsizers. This will attract a mix of residents, helping to create a vibrant and diverse new community.

“Most of the homes at Maple Creek will have solar PV panels installed on the roof and all properties will be fitted with electric car charging points. These homes will be A-rated by the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and will produce 20 per cent of the energy required by homeowners – a significant benefit during these times of rapidly rising energy prices.”

All homes at the development will have private parking and all houses will feature gardens. Half of the site will be developed into public open space, which will include a children’s play area, woodland and wildlife pond.

Emma said: “We are taking an unloved brownfield site with derelict buildings and turning it into an attractive and thriving new neighbourhood. The development will be ideal for families as it will incorporate large areas of public open green space and every house will have a garden. The proximity of a number of well-regarded schools is also a plus for parents.

“Maple Creek is in a fabulous rural location, just a short drive from the shops and other amenities of Corringham, Stanford-le-Hope and Basildon. Commuters will also benefit from excellent transport links. The development is just a short drive from the railway stations at Basildon and Pitsea, which have direct services to central London in under 40 minutes, while there is also easy access to the A13, A127 and M25.

Bellway plans to open a showhome at Maple Creek early next year. The first residents are expected to move into their completed homes in spring 2023.
