CHRISTMAS has arrived early to a local school after DP World generously gifted over £10,000 to install a new sensory room and create a forest school at Corringham Primary School.
Emma Cowper, from the sustainability team at London Gateway, met with Karina Garrick, Headteacher to see where their donation will be put to work.
Students welcomed their visitors and showed them to where the sensory room and forest school will be installed.
Karina Garrick said: “We are very lucky to be neighbours with such a forward thinking and environmentally conscious port like DP World.
“We know our children see the port each time they come to school and they might even enjoy a career with them in a few years’ time, so it’s wonderful that DP World are interested in their youngest neighbours and have demonstrated how important it is to invest in their community.
“We’re pleased to put this money to hard work; Equipment for the sensory room has been purchased and we’re expecting the forest school, and training of forest school staff, to be completed in September 2023.
“From all of us at Corringham Primary school, Thank you!”
Additionally, Emma Cowper, Sustainability Manager at DP World, said: “DP World is proud to sponsor the creation of a new sensory room and a forest school at Corringham Primary School. Supporting local schools is an important part of how we do business in UK, and we are excited at how these new facilities will improve the lives and educations of Corringham Primary’s children.
