DP World raised record amounts for charity

DP WORLD in the UK today announces that it raised a record amount for charity in 2022, with its charitable partners receiving more than £120,000 in total.

The leading provider of smart logistics solutions, which helps trade flow across the globe, operates the UK’s most advanced logistics hubs at Southampton and London Gateway. DP World Southampton partnered with the Saints Foundation – the charitable arm of Southampton Football Club – to raise £65,000 from a fundraising dinner and other activities. Additionally, DP World London Gateway raised £55,000 for its local charity partners, Meningitis Now and Little Havens Hospice, at a Christmas quiz night.

Ernst Schulze, UK Chief Executive of DP World, said: “I am delighted that we raised more money last year than ever before for our local charity partners and I would like to thank everyone who worked hard to make this possible. Partnerships with local stakeholders are central to how we do business in the UK, and we will continue to support local initiatives and activities wherever we see an opportunity to improve lives in our communities.”

“DP World in the UK is also committed to investing in and regenerating the areas where it operates. Over the last 10 years, £2 billion has been invested in this country and over the next 10 years we have earmarked a further £1 billion of investment.”

The Saints Foundation uses the power and passion of the football club to transform lives in and around Southampton, helping people fulfil their potential to be more involved, healthier and empowered members of the community. Meningitis Now is the UK’s largest meningitis charity, offering support, funding research and raising awareness. And Little Havens Hospice provides palliative nursing and supportive care to adults and children living with complex or incurable conditions.

Jazz Bhatti, Fundraising & Partnerships Manager at the Saints Foundation, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at DP World Southampton. The money we’ve raised will help thousands of people living in our city change their lives for the better.”

Dr Tom Nutt, Chief Executive of Meningitis Now, added: “The DP World London Gateway charity quiz is a truly remarkable event. The night is always greatly anticipated and so much fun for everyone to attend. We are proud to receive DP World’s fantastic support.”
