SWIMMERS from Thurrock Swimming Club participated in the 3rd weekend of the East Region Championships held in Luton. The swimmers who train with Impulse Leisure at Blackshots Leisure Centre enjoyed many medals, top 8 finishes, and many personal best times.

Nicholas Mitroi (12) started his weekend well by winning Gold in the 800m free. Nic also achieved a best time in the 100 back and 400 free finishing 4th. He also competed in the 50 & 100 free. Teammate Ivan Ijomoni (12) also had a great swim in the 800m finishing 2nd. Ivan swam a brilliant race in the 100 free finishing 2nd and gained silver in the 200 fly final setting a huge personal best time. In the 50 free, Ivan finished 3rd in the final going under 30secs for the first time. He also finished 3rd in the 400IM & 400 free with another best time. He also swam to a best time in the 50 fly.
Ivan also competed in the 100 back Daniel Thompson (16) set a huge PB finishing 3rd overall with his first regional medal. Isabella Da Silva (12) set a best time in the 800 and finished 5th in her age group. In the 200 fly, Isabella finished 8th in the final with a personal best time. Isabella achieved best times in the 50 free and 50 fly. She also achieved a best time in the 100 & 400 free. Kai Patel (12) swam a superb 200 breast finishing 3rd overall. In the final, he swam 5 seconds faster than the heats. In the 100 breast event, Kai set another huge best time and finished 5th in the final. Kai also competed in the 50 free, 400 free &400IM.
Olivia Church (17) finished 5th in the 800 free just outside of her best time. Zak Walker (12), made the 200 fly final with a huge PB. IN the final, Zak swam an incredible swim, taking off another 8 seconds and finished 5th overall. He also achieved a best time in the 50 free, 100 free and 50 fly. He also competed in the 400 IM. Will Minister (13), swam a great 400IM, 50 fly and 200 breast achieving huge best times in all three event. He also competed in the 200 fly, 100 breast and 400 free. Ehimare Ojiekhudu (12) finished just outside of his best tin the 50 free but set a best time in the 100 free.
His brother Ose Ojiekhudu (14) achieved a best time in the 50m free. Tobi Olajide (14) Swam a great 200 fly finishing 6th in the final. He also achieved a best time in the 50m free and also competed in the 50 fly and 100 free. Lilyana Verlander (12) swum a great 200 back, smashing her best time by 10 seconds. She also achieved a best time in the 100 back. Briana Avramescu (14) swam well, achieving a best time in the 200 back. Oba Bankole (14) achieved a best time in the 100 breast and completed in the 200 breast. Team mate Jeremy Godwin (14) achieved a best time in the 100 breast and also competed in the 200 breast, finishing just outside of his best time. Ava Boucaud (13) achieved a personal best in the 100 breast and 50 free. Ore Johnson (13) achieved a personal best time in the 400 free and competed in the 50 free.
Lucas Ward (11) competed in the 11&12 age group and achieved a best time in the 200 fly. Riley Allen (12) and Tyree Tudor (12) both competed in the 200 fly and swam faster than their short course best times. Arianna Tverijonas (12) swam a great 200 breast achieving a 5 second PB. She also competed in the 50 free.
