Horndon: Man seriously injured after assault in pub

ESSEX Police are investigating an assault in Horndon-on-the-Hill which left a man with a potentially life-changing injury.

It was reported the victim, a man in his 40s, was attacked by another man who threw a chair at him at the Swann Inn in High Road at around 8.15pm yesterday (Saturday 17 June).

The victim was then punched.

He was taken to hospital and had sustained a broken leg.

It’s believed the attacker may have driven a Citreon Berlingo van.

This incident took place in a busy pub and police believe people will have seen what happened.

A police spokesperson said: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
