Goals by Jake Thompson (38′) and Michael Finneran (43′ og) secured all three points for Regent.
Grays Athletic got on back through Samuel Bantick (61′ pen).
The result leaves Grays second from bottom.
They return to league action on Friday at home to Basildon United.
