
THURROCK Swimming Club sent a large team to the Essex Winter Championships. The swimmers who train at Blackshots Leisure Centre in Grays with Impulse Leisure had a great meet and the performed exceptionally well. The team gained many medals and final positions as well as more qualifying times for this years National Winter Championships
Ethan Martin achieved a PB in the 100 free finishing 2nd overall and 50 fly, 8th in the 50 back, 3rd in the 50 free, 8th 100IM
Henry Dean finished 1st in the 100 fly, 2nd in the 50 fly and achieved a best time in the 200 fly with a best times. He equalled his best time in the 100 free (8th overall), 50 back, 4th in the 50 free. Henry also competed in the 100 back, 200 free.
Nikita Charykin achieved a best time in the 200 back finishing 1st, 2nd in the 100 back, 4th in the 200 fly, 3rd in the 100 fly and 200IM.
Joshua Shepherd had a great weekend, finishing 2nd in the 100 free, 2nd in the 50 back, 1st 50 fly, 1st 100 fly, 1st 100 back, 1st 200 fly, 1st 50 free, 7th 200 back, 7th in the 50 breast, 4th 200IM
Ayobami Akindele, PB in the 100 free, 8th in the 50 free, 7th in the 100 fly, 8th in the 50 breast with a best time and 5th in the 50 fly.
Ben Minister achieved a best time in the 400IM finishing 4th overall and set a PB in the 50 back and 200 back (4th overall). In the 100 fly, Ben finished 6th in another best time and 8th in the 100 back. He equalled his best time in the 200 fly finishing 7th overall
Danny Thompson achieved a huge PB in the 400IM finishing 7th, and 100 fly, 3rd in the 800 free for men, 6th in the 800 free. Danny also competed in the 100 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 50 fly and 50 free. Danny achieved a best time in the 200 fly.
Tobi Olajide achieved a best time in the 100 free, 200 fly, 100 fly, 50 back and competed in the 50 free, 50 fly
Oba Bankole swam well in the 50, 100 & 200 breast events .
Louise Webster finished 6th overall in the 200 fly, 4th in the 400IM, competed in the 50 fly, 100 breast, 100IM, 100 fly, 200IM and 2nd in the 800 free.
Mia Ward, swimming in her last gala competed well in the 50, 100 & 200 back, 100 & 200IM.
Daniel Boboye achieved a PB in the 50 free, 50 fly, finished 7th in the 100 breast just missing out on his national time and 7th in the 50 breast.
Jenson Hurrell finished 3rd in the senior final for the 50 back, just outside of his best in the 50 free. David Ionescu achieved a best time in the 50 free.
Ose Ojiekhudu achieved swam just outside of his best in the 50 back, 50 fly, 50 free, pb in the 100 fly
Ademola Oshowole achieved a best time in the 50 free, 50 breast, 200 back
Elise Paraiwa swam just outside of her best in the 50 fly.
Zak Walker achieved a huge PB in the 200 fly and 50 breast.
Isabella Da Silva finished 3rd in the 12year age group in the 200 fly with a best time
Kai Patel achieved a huge PB in the 200 breast finishing 6th overall in the juniors, 100 breast and 100 IM. He finished 1st in the 13 year age group in the breaststroke events.
James McGettigan finished 3rd in the junior 200 breast, achieved a best time in the 100 & 50 fly. He also competed in the 50 free, 5th in the 100 breast, 4th in the 50 breast.
Tami Bankole achieved best times in the 50 & 100 fly
Jeremey Godwin achieved best times in the 50, 100 and 200 breast event
Elise Delapperall equalled her best in the 100 free and made the final of the 50 fly achieving a personal best time finishing 7th overall. Elise also achieved a best time in the 50 free
Ivan Ijomoni finished 7th in the junior 400IM, being the only 12 year old qualifier and set a best time in the 200 fly
