FIFTEEN sides have already secured their place in Friday’s BBC Essex Senior Cup Fourth Round draw (6:45pm), with one fixture left to play and one team receiving a bye. In case you’ve missed any of the Senior Cup action, here’s a re-cap of Round Three so far.
Sky Bet Football League Two side Colchester United kicked-off the Round Three action as they ran out 4-0 winners over Heybridge Swifts at home. There were also wins for all of the Vanarama National League sides, with Dagenham & Redbridge, Chelmsford City, Aveley and holders Braintree Town progressing into Round Four.
Elsewhere, a nine-goal thriller between Athletic Newham and Grays Athletic saw the latter advance with a 5-4 win away from home. Two of the ties went to penalties: Walthamstow progressing past Billericay Town and Maldon & Tiptree advancing beyond Brightlingsea Regent.
Pitching In Isthmian League sides Hashtag United and Witham Town won away from home against Hornchurch and Ilford respectively. Another Isthmian side, Brentwood Town, ran out 3-2 winners against Tilbury.
The final three fixtures so far have seen Canvey Island, Buckhurst Hill and Little Oakley run out winners against White Ensign, Waltham Abbey and FC Clacton. The last remaining Round Three fixture sees Redbridge make the trip to Southend United. This fixture is due to be played on Tuesday 5th December at Roots Hall.
