OFFICERS investigating a collision in Chadwell St Mary which took place last night, Sunday 31 December, are now in a position to confirm a man has died.
They were called to the junction of Chadwell Hill and Brentwood Road, shortly before 6.30pm.
The incident involved a bus and a moped.
A spokesperson said: “As part of the same incident, we also closed a section of road nearby, in Adelaide Road, Tilbury.
Both closures were lifted in the early hours of this morning.
Sadly, we can now confirm that a 27-year-old man has died as a result of the incident.
No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing.
We have also secured a number of witness accounts which are helping us with our enquiries.
